Military service can be a long term career option or a career entry point where you acquire valuable skills that can be transferred into civilian life.  Regardless what your goals are, you must understanding the risks as well as the benefits of service. Each branch has recruiters who can guide you through the process and answer your specific questions.

Step 1: Take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), a multiple-choice career-fit assessment.Once you have talked to a recruiter, you’ll set a date to visit a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) to finish the enlistment process of determining your physical qualifications, aptitude and best fit within the branch of military service.  For all branches, the enlistment process is generally as follows:
